Why one gets so lucky

Why one gets so lucky

When one sees the horoscope of India’s current Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and his political opponent Mr. Rahul Gandhi , one will see  a stark difference between their horoscopes . On one side Mr. Narendra Modi’s horoscope destined him to reach the acme of politics and on the other side Mr. Rahul Gandhi’s horoscope forecasts a political career full of obstacles. Naturally the question that follows is whether these esteemed people are product of their destinies or their utter hard work only. If Mr. Modi’s hard work is the only contributor to his success then how come his horoscope destined him to reach the zenith . On the other side Mr. Rahul Gandhi despite trying so hard to win somehow manages to lose  in the end which is also predictable from his horoscope. So who is responsible their hard work or their Stars ? Why do the stars give good fortune to one and misfortune to others, and if we are born to “luck” , whether good or bad , what is the use or where is the incentive to individual effort ?

Now in nature if there is any law which is established beyond doubt is surely the law of cause and effect. Every cause must produce an adequate effect & nothing which we see as an effect can be without a pre-existent cause. Moreover, if this is a universal law then logically it must apply to conditions of birth as well as to subsequent life.

Following up this idea, the next question that arises is : If our birth under a lucky star or unlucky star is the effect of some prior cause , what may that be, or where and how was the cause generated ? To that there can be only one answer ; that we must have made the causes in some previous existence which now result in our birth under a lucky or unlucky or an average star. So it is we and our choices that is shaping the course of our future and to fulfill our incomplete desires we are ourselves choosing the time, place, womb, family to take our birth.

Yoganand Paramhansa in his famous Autobiography of a yogi asserts that “A child is born on that day and at that hour when the celestial rays are in mathematical harmony with his individual karma. His horoscope is a challenging portrait, revealing his unalterable past and its probable future results. But the natal chart can be rightly interpreted only by men of intuitive wisdom: these are few.

Thus, by principle of induction a belief in astrology inevitably requires a belief in a previous and future existence, for while we are now reaping in our horoscopes the effects of our past lives , we are also by our acts laying the foundations for a new horoscope which can be only worked out in a future life.

“How closely luck s linked to merit

Does never to the fool occur ;

Had he the wise man’s stone, I swear it ,

The stone had no philosopher.”

Said Mephisto sarcastically in “Faust” and it is true.If we are born under a lucky star that shows we have earned the good fortune thereby indicated, by forethought, kindness, and our other virtues expressed in previous lives, for we cannot have friends unless we are friendly ourselves. If we happen to have Saturn & mars instead of Jupiter & Venus near to zenith , it shows in the past we ourselves have not been kidly & friendly or we could not now express the opposite traits.

But this is just the point where the study of astrology should help us. It shows us the limitations for the present & it points out the obvious remedies and how to build our future .

Can the leopard change his skin ? NO. Can the lion cease to prey? Absolutely impossible. Can the flower cease to bloom or mineral to crystallize ? Certainly not ; because they are under laws which are unchangeable. They have neither choice nor prerogative but must obey the diktats of the group spirit which guides them along their path of evolution. But in this respect we differ radically from those lower kingdoms, we have both Choice & Prerogative.

We may do whatsoever we will and that is a factor which is never shown in the horoscope, a factor that may be made to play an all important role in life. It is not enough to be born under a lucky star to have a lucky life , for the horoscope shows only the tendencies and the person who is so well endowed will without question have an abundance of opportunities to make his life fortunate in the very highest degree. And even a person who has an afflicted horoscope , even he can by his will and the exercise of choice , which are his divine birthrights , he may rue his stars and make of the unlucky horoscope a fruitful from a higher standpoint than the other.

The crux of the above passages make us fathom that those who are living in the lap of luxury today are to be pitied if they forget that they are reaping fruits of own past actions and sitting idle in this life will make their future full of stress & strain; while those in stress & strain of life, as expressed in horoscopes should not give up and should convert their adversity to prosperity by doing work in right direction with full passion & love. Thus, the pendulum of luck & loss , success & failure swings through many lives till we learn to make our own “LUCK “ by ruling our own stars..

The Buddha once said that “change is the only constant” and it is this change that is ministered upon us by the circling stars forming configurations that we call good or evil, though they are neither from a higher standpoint; for no matter how good the horoscope is , by progression of stars evil configurations are sure to come and no matter how evil, there are always new opportunities for good . All that we have to do is to grab that opportunity , and help our stars, so that our stars may help us.
